I have a confession. I never owned any of these as a kid.
There are two reasons. 1) Although a dyed in the wool DC fan now, my youthful superhero tastes leaned more towards Marvel. Therefore the Secret Wars figures from about the same time period appealed to me much more than these, and 2) the action features turned me off (the ad tells us to "just squeeze 'em!" - ummm, no thanks.)
Later, when some of these were re-released in conjunction with the '89 Batman movie, I did pick a few of them up. But I really missed the boat on the original release, and today I'd love to have every one of these guys.

This ad appeared on the inside front cover of World's Finest Comics number 307, September 1984.
UPDATE: The Irredeemable Shag has just posted a great write-up on the Super Powers Firestorm action figure; take a look at it by clicking HERE!

Shame on you Eric! lol the Super Powers line is the greatest collection of figures since Kenner's Star Wars line. I have a boatload World's Finest comics as well. They were my fav. as a kid.
Great new blog, Shag. I added a link to my post!
Jay, I know, I know, what can I say? I was young and stupid!
Thanks for the link!
By the way, I'm not sure if you noticed, but I added you to my blogroll over the weekend.
