That's no moon...

...it's a Pez dispenser!

Hey kids, pretend your gullet is Alderaan and blast it with sugary goodness!

Pez are a part of my childhood that I just can't let go of, although my collection of them has ebbed and flowed over time. Currently all I have left in my collection that I still cling to are a few Star Wars Pez and a couple Batman Pez, but I've had everyone from Fred Flintstone to the Incredibles to Big Bird to Pluto over the years. The granddaddy of candy / toy dispensers, Pez are the king and I will always have mad respect for them. I remember when the first assortment of Star Wars Pez came out over a decade ago, and the combination of Star Wars and Pez was like crossing the streams of awesomeness. When that partnership culminated in a Death Star Pez dispenser, a bell rang and an angel got it's wings. This thing is still so cool I can barely look upon it for more than 20 minutes without having to return it to it's shelf for fear of the world ending, as it's all clearly down hill from here.

  1. As much as I like the gadget, I do not really fancy the candy by itself. Sad to say the gimmick is more prize than the candy. However it does makes their mark in history.

  2. Oh, awesome.

@LEon: You don't like PEZ? How dare you! I suppose you don't like NECCO Wafers either! ;)

  3. I have this same one, I had never seen it in stores, a friend found it and gave it to me. Hands down one of the coolest PEZ next to my Camel in a Fez!

  4. Wow, that looks cool, in a geek-full-of-cavities way. I like it. There was a moment when we had lots of PEZ dispensers here in Argentina. Now all we have is Ben 10, and two or three Ratatouille characters.

One question: Does it still have candy? If it does, try some... I'm sure that if it doesn't kill it will turn you into a Jedi Master.

  6. The candy is certainly an acquired taste, and I will only eat it when it's relatively fresh. I tossed out all the Pez that was with this one (and the few others I still have.)

CB - I THINK this one came in a Walmart exclusive set, with Emperor Palpetine and General Greivous and a couple others. Not sure if it ever saw individual release.
