Hello Dolly!

You know that idiot Tila Tequila? Yeah well she can suckit. There's only one woman in the entire multiverse worthy of the name Teela, and this is she:

Actually, depending on what mythos you choose to believe (mini-books, cartoon etc.) while clad in the armor she is The Goddess. What her fascination with snakes is, I don't know, but then my name is BubbaShelby so I can relate.

Without her snake armor, she's simply Teela. daughter of Man-At-Arms and too cool for Prince Adams' advances. As a kid, I was too cool for Teela, preferring her musclebound fuzzy loincloth wearing pals (thank GOD I outgrew that phase) over icky girly dollies. I never had a Princess Leia either, although I secretly wanted one.

I have to admit though, Teela is kinda cute.

I think I'll keep her around for a while.

She's missing her shield, but otherwise she's near-complete with her snake staff and cobra armor. Ironically, I once had her shield and sold it on eBay assuming I wouldn't ever have a Teela. Go figure.

I think I now see what Prince Adam sees in you, T.

So is she a dolly or an action figure? I'll let you decide (and I am prepared for the flack, guys ;) ) but I am perfectly okay with owning a dolly...even though Teela is an action figure dammit!

  1. I only had a few MotU figures growing up(I was nearly in high school i can't be seen with toys lol).

But my younger cousin had a ton of He-Man figures including Teela and he told me it was because his sister need a figure to play with!....I think he was lying to me because he would always pick her when i would go and play He-Man at his house(None of my friends could see me playing with toys over there).

  2. You once told me that the criteria for a toy being a "dolly" was that removable pants were a major play feature of the toy.

So, sorry Bubba, you don't have a dolly yet... by your own standards.

What you have here is a "Girly Figure."

A nice Girly Figure but a Girly Figure, nonetheless.

Incidentally, my first GF was a Princess Leia in the first Star Wars action figure line. It was kind of a tough hurdle but I had to have them all.

  3. That's cool jboy - I was the same way - long after I had discarded my MOTU I would go over to a neighbor kids house and play with his, wishing I hadn't gotten rid of mine. Here I am an adult and now I have an even larger MOTU collection!

Well, I sure can't argue with my own logic Brian, although I did have to remove her headgear, so I'm getting closer. Save me a seat at the next Dollyholics Anonymous meeting ;)

  4. When I was a kid I had all the He-Man figures but I was a little apprehensive to ask for Teela and Evil Lynn so I made it out like I wanted my sister to have Teela because she was a girl. I spun it like that so not only did it save me from seeming a bit strange, but then I also made it known that when it was time to play with my He-Man figures, I wanted my sis to join in the action using the Teela figure. My sister rarely wound up joining in, but it was an easy way for me to get those two figures without feeling weird about asking.
