Something tells me most of them are jumping on the bandwagon now that the sequel is being released (and looks awesome,) but maybe they are being honest and actually did dig the movie way back then. Maybe some of them even saw it in the theaters. Maybe some of them had a toy or two. Maybe some of them played the video games.
But I'm willing to bet none of them had Tron PJs!

Booyah!
I even had all the toys. Don't anymore, and have only tracked down Flynn and Warrior thus far. Another hipster doofus (kidding) who has them all (in original and NECA re-release) is Reis, so check out his Tron figure photo gallery if you wish you were as cool as us.
I can only wish... I really liked Tron though... And my dad loved it. We saw it together.
ReplyDeleteI confess: I have not seen Tron. But the sequel looks really cool, so I will be checking out the original.
ReplyDeleteI can honestly say that I've always loved Tron, right down to the two disc, special edition first release on DVD. I didn't get to see it in the theater, being only six at the time, but it didn't take me long to appreciate it. The game helped a lot with that. Even played the one on Atari VCS, Adventures of Tron. Then, of course, the PC Game Tron 2.0 with Jet Bradley, whom I'm guessing has been written out of continuity? Yeah, I could talk Tron all day, although I was stuck with a Star Wars robe and A-Team pajamas.
ReplyDeleteI watched the movie when I was little, and didn't like it (to be fair I was like 3). My brother had all of the toys. All the figs, all the bikes. I never had any of them. At least I can say this is one bandwagon I missed out on.
ReplyDeleteI saw the movie in the theaters when it came out. It wasn't like Star Wars. I got Tron and that's about it. I will probably miss the sequel.
ReplyDeleteDid you notice my homage to you, Bubbashelby, with my "8 Bit Squad" title? ;) You're an inspiration, sir.
ReplyDeleteIn all honesty, I totally posted that gallery after seeing what people were searching for. My editor wants "buzz worthy" posts. So I did it. I'm such a sellout.
And while we're on it, I didn't see it in the theater, either. I knew the video game intimately, though, plunking an absurd amount of quarters into it. Then the toys hit stores and I ended up with a couple.
It was years later, in middle school, that I saw the movie on HBO with some friends at a sleepover. It ruled! And finally many of my toys made more sense.
