And now so am I.

Do I hate it? Why would I? Am I up in arms about it? Should I be? Will Diana of Themyscira be back in her iconic duds soon? Of course! I didn't just start reading comics YESTERDAY!!! I know how these things go.
What I do like about this look is that 1) it gets the general public talking and thinking about Wonder Woman. That is a good thing no matter what. 2) This is clearly an attempt to modernize the costume and character with what I imagine is the goal to set Wonder Woman on a path to a live action movie. Get people thinking about Wonder Woman in our modern world and in the flesh, so to speak. That too is a very good thing.
Will she look like this if/when she hits live action? Probably not. Would her iconic look work in a more serious film or live action TV series? Probably not.
Does Wonder Woman deserve to have her own live action movie?
Damn right she does.
So whether you like this look or not, remember Superman's mullet and Batman's lack of shorts on the outside of his tights and know this too shall pass; and the meantime let's let Wonder Woman enjoy the chatter. She deserves it.
All I am saying, is give pants a chance.
Going to have to say i hate this new look for her and it reminds me of Wonder Girl/Donna Troy a little bit.
ReplyDeleteIs this what they mean by "more is less"? I am not saying she is over dressed but she just loose the advantages to in action standing among the justice league. That is no longer a costume in short. Like a off-day attire for her. If that the case, she forgot her chanel handbag and her iPhone.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to riff on the "pants" pun but it is very late.
ReplyDeleteI liked the costume when I fgirst saw it yesterday. As I look at it more, I don't like the jacket and it is very Donna Troy-ish but all things being equal, I still like it.
Still won't get me to pick up the comic....
