Dark Knight Rises Viral Marketing :: Operation Early Bird Update
Yesterday I mentioned the Dark Knight Rises' apparent Viral Marketing campaign which had led watchers to OperationEarlyBird.com
I was at the source at 10am this morning when the timer ran out; but about twenty minutes beforehand a recording of girls voices began to play at TheDarkKnightRises.com saying longitude/latitude coordinates.
I listened until I heard coordinates close to San Francisco (knowing there's an IMAX theatre there that would show the prologue,) and as luck would have it they said them with about a minute to go on the counter!
So I was ready when the counter ran out; eventually the pages loaded and led to a map. I typed in the proper coordinates and clicked on the green dot - my prize:
Two tickets to an advance screening of The Dark Knight Rises prologue on December 13th!!!!
WOOHOOOO!

The Dark Knight Rises Viral Marketing Campaign?
Many of you will recall the absolutely epic viral marketing campaign that coincided with the release of The Dark Knight a few years back.
Well, it may be starting all over again for The Dark Knight Rises, as a few 'official documents' regarding a Dr. Leonid Pavel, the CIA and some sort of shady organization have been popping up online over the past few days:
The 'viral hunters' over at SuperHeroHype believe the clue 'Operation Early Bird' in that last document, discovered today (12/8,) is in reference to the website http://www.operationearlybird.com and it appears that something is set to go down tomorrow (12/9) at 10:00AM pst.
I'm all a tingle with anticipation!!!!

More Dark Knight Viral Marketing Swag!
Another component of the Dark Knight viral marketing brings another box of goodies to my mailbox, I believe due to my recent "Batman sighting" submission at Gotham Cable News.
I received a small square box from "CFB" today. I thought to myself, "Who the heck is CFB?!?!"
I popped open the lid and discovered:

SWEET!
Inside was two logo stickers, two bumper stickers, and a note - Click image to enlarge:

As well as an uber-groovy keychain and pin!

My keychain was molded with a stunted top blade, but I just figure it's a "battle-damaged" version!
This amazing viral marketing campaign is obviously coming to a close soon, with the movie being released July 18th. It's been gobs of fun, I've met and interacted with many great people online and off, and I've netted some righteous goodies, including all three issues of The Gotham Times, a sweet bunch of Harvey Dent campaign materials:

and a couple Joker cards from the advanced screening of the trailer.
So keep your eyes on Citizensforbatman.org on July 8th, it appears there will be at least one more online viral push. If you're lucky, there may even be a shot at some swag!
