Eww, the cat is puking again!
Actually this is Dex-Star, Despotellis and B'dg, from the recent DC Universe Classics Green Lantern Wave 2.
I initially had to have this three figure set because of B'Dg. How freaking cute is this little fellow? As soon as I saw the previews for this set of three figures I knew it would have to be mine for the space rodent alone!
But upon opening the toy I quickly fell in love with Dex-Starr. Dex-Starr is actually an Earth cat who watched as his owner was murderd and was then subject to cruelty before a red lantern ring found him and harnessed his rage. That's pretty cool, and I like how he wears his ring on his tail!
Now I'm no lantern color guard expert, having read only a few of the Blackest Coffee, Brightest Student comics, but it seems red lanterns are so full of rage they constantly barf red energy. Or cherry Kool-Aid. Not sure, but Dex-Starr has a removable translucent barf-wad which is also kind of fun and in keeping with the fact that he is a cat. RAGE HAIR BALL!
And B'Dg is pretty dang cute too! What a cute widdle gween wantern! Hi gween wantern! Want a peanut, gween wantern?

Finally the set comes with a yellow lantern named Despotellis. He looks like a...yeah...ahem. Anyways, he's pretty silly but let's face it, they made him and he's totally off the wall, so any Green lantern comic fan should be pretty stoked to get such a nutty character in toy form.
Even if he does look like a walking marital aide.
The set does come with a large piece of the Collect and Connect figure Stel, but I don't have any intentions of getting any more of these figures.
I just wanted the cute super pets! More super pets please, Mattel!
DC Universe Classics Green Arrow
, from Wave 9.
Green Arrow came with a bow (with arrow attached) and four 'trick' arrows. I didn't take pics of everything because my goal here was just cool pics and not a comprehensive review or look at GA.
But as for the look of the figure and his posability etc, Green Arrow is tops! His wrists have extra articulation for bow and arrow holding, and his right hand is posed to properly grip the non-business end of his arrows. Keen.
I did get a pic of him with the boxing glove arrow because there is nothing awesomer than a boxing glove arrow. In fact at my work there is archery equipment available, and one of my goals is to do a 'proof-of-concept' test on the boxing glove arrow. I'll try to get it on video when I get around to it.
This is the Golden Age Dr. Fate from DC Universe Classics. Dr. Fate has always been a favorite character of mine, so I am glad to have him from DCUC and hope someday to complete the entire old school JSA. Sadly that won't be easy or inexpensive. Wildcat was near impossible to find in stores, and Green Lantern and Hourman are Walmart exclusives, so I can probably forget about ever seeing them at retail too. Starman has also thus far eluded me as well.
Even Dr. Fate here was tough to find, I think I only saw him once in stores. He was also released in a variant 'modern' version but I don't care about that one. Which is good because I never saw that version either.
Dr. Fate is a very basic figure but that's due to the simplicity of his Golden Age design. He looks exactly like he should.
Fate's right hand is sculpted open so he can cast spells and do whatever other things Fate does.
Dr. Fate even came with an electrically charged ankh that fits into his outstretched right hand for more mystical fun!
Of all the kooky clad Bat-villains, I have always thought Deadshot one of the kookiest and therefore one of the coolest. Back in the late eighties and early nineties he was one of my favorite villains and I always enjoyed it when he popped into a Batman comic.
Wearing wrist mounted guns, shiny silver, bright red and yellow and pretty damn near everything else that would make sniping a difficult endeavor indeed, Deadshot takes the cake for overdressed Bat-antagonists.
In his first appearance in Batman #59, Floyd Lawton actually looked more like a dapper dropout from a forgotten western serial. As the Silver Age progressed, he got his current and most well known look, and has held on to it with only moderate alteration since.
Deadshot bounced around Gotham City for a while, but he is currently best known for his role as a team member of the Suicide Squad. With Checkmate and Amanda Waller playing such big roles in the current Smallville storylines, I really hope we get to see Deadshot in action there soon. There is also rumor of a Suicide Squad movie, in which Deadshot would have to be a major player!
This Deadshot figure was part of the difficult to find (aren't they all) DC Universe Wave 9, and is a must have for anyone looking to add a little diversity to their Batman's Rouges Gallery. After all, happiness is a warm gun.
