Arkham Video Games Scarecrow BootLEGO Minifig

Had to get this BootLEGO Arkham video game version of Scarecrow. They even gave him a wolverine claw to emulate his hypodermic needle fingers!

This guy is just too creepy cool looking!

Get a load of that face. Yech! This is a fun BootLEGO version of Scarecrow and the details are spot-on to the video games. And his quality is top notch for a BootLEGO. Highly recommended!

Imaginext Arkham Asylum Batmobile

This Arkham Asylum inspired Imaginext Batmobile has been around for a couple years now, but I only recently added it to my collection. You can see how similar it is to the video game Batmobile (in Hot Wheel form) but they've also added a few elements to make the vehicle a little more unique.

Up front is the stereotypical bat-face, and the Batmobile also shoots a disk from under the grille with the flip of a switch on the car's side. It flies out with some decent force and will take the legs right out from under any villainous Imaginext figure sorry enough to fall in it's crosshairs.

When the Batmobile rolls, the motor rocks back and forth.

When you push the gas tank lid, the motor pops up Go-Go-Gadget style, and the flame rotates when the car rolls (but only when the engine is up). At first I thought this action feature was ridiculous, but the more I do it the more I like it. It's excessive and over the top but not too excessive and over the top, if that makes any sense.

This Batmobile comes with one of the modern style Batman figures in racing gear. I'm fine with him but he's not my favorite Imaginext Batman design. I think it's silly when Batman wears a helmet in his own car. For a Batcycle it makes sense, but he's in the car for heaven's sake! Oh well, maybe it's just a H.U.D. he slips over his cowl for sensory enhancement when he's hauling ass at jet-like speeds through the city streets.

And on rooftops.

I do still prefer the original Batman figure style, but all things must change.

Fortunately the old Batman fits just the same as the new.

Plus, he don't need no stinking helmet!

Lotsa Lego News: TMNT, Arkham Asylum, Harleen Quinzel, oh my!

While I was busy posting Halloween themed stuff last month, some new toy news came out of New York Comic Con.

First and most importantly, the Lego set that includes Harley Quinn's alter ego!

Wouldn't you know it, Dr. Harleen Quinzel is in the most expensive Batman themed Lego set yet. LAME LAME LAME!

Set 10937 Batman – Arkham Asylum Breakout is going to cost: $hitload.50 (about one-sixty American!) so I will probably need to sell some blood or a kidney. Preferably someone elses.

Also, Lego announced their TMNT Lego minifigures and sets! Of course I'm only ecstatic about the cute Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle minifigures themselves in this case...

So cute!

I definitely need a few (if not all) Turtle minifigures...

...especially Raphael...

...but I have a feeling they will be pretty well spread out throughout multiple price-point sets. So I think I'm ok in this case.

Does anyone have a kidney they aren't using?

Upcoming Lego Batman themed sets revealed!

Most news out of the San Diego Comic Con this year has done little to excite me.

Then, suddenly...THIS!

LEGO HARLEEN QUINZEL!!!!!!

OMFGHKJHIOTVOVBHIVYVOVYVYOVYAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Based on the other reveals thus far, I have to assume they are making an Arkham Asylum (or Arkham City) themed set (see Joker in prison garb below and hooded Robin!)

Also upcoming, The Dark Knight Rises themed Lego sets (see movie based Jim Gordon and Bane above!) and a new Mr. Freeze, Scarecrow, Penguin and even AQUAMAN (or is that AquaBieber hahahaahhaha ahem.)

These all look wonderfully wonderful and I will probably buy many of them, or I may not, depending on the sets they come with...but rest assured I WILL BUY A LEGO HARLEEN QUINZEL SO FAST!!!!!

Oh yeah, as expected there are also new Batman variants with each set (I can only assume the winter Bat above comes with the Mr. Freeze set.)

Arkham Asylum Batmobile

Happy Bat-Day! On this date in 1939, DC Comics introduced Batman to the world in Detective Comics #27!

And as if by fate, I finally located an Arkham Asylum Batmobile by Hot Wheels, based on the Batmobile that appears in the Arkham Asylum video game. The Arkham Asylum Batmobile is a 2011 HW Premiere and is #24/50.

Ironically, I found it at Safeway while grocery shopping and not during an actual toy hunt. I love it when things work out that way!

This is a pretty cool Batmobile design. And a surprising inclusion in the Hot Wheels Batmobile ranks. I would have never expected in a million years that a video game design for the Batmobile would make the Hot Wheels line-up, but I guess it goes to show how integral gaming is in our culture right now.

I remember a scant few years ago when the only 1:64 scale Batmobiles anyone could hope to find were a couple movie based ones and the '66, and even the '66s one would find if they could were decades old. Now we're getting multiple new releases based on relatively new designs within months of each other! Keep it up Mattel - there are still scores of Batmobiles I need in my 1:64 scale collection!

Why didn't anyone tell me they were making one of these...things?!?!

From Hotwheels and based on the Batman: Arkham Asylum video game comes this Hotwheels Batmobile available some time this spring!!!!!!!!!

A must have! Yay!
