Catwoman Purrrsday :: Polly Pocket Catwoman (and Harley and Ivy!)

Mattel just announced their 2012 SDCC Exclusives available at this year's San Diego Comic Con (and probably also available online at the same time.)

Like the Superhero Polly Pockets of a few years back this year sees Polly and her Pallys dressed as that triumvirate of terror: Poison Ivy, Catwoman and Harley Quinn!
Clearly not your standard Polly Pocket dollies, this set look more like little statues - pre-posed and non articulated. And how is one supposed to stand that Harley on a shelf? Ah who cares. She's cute.

I did get the Batgirl, Supergirl and Wonder Woman Polly Pockets SDCC exclusive set for my daughter a couple years ago and was quite disappointed. I expected the same type of toy as the Polly Pockets she had gotten from retail and it was, I suppose understandably, more of a collector's display item. The figures weren't meant for play and one fell apart pretty easily (although this is Mattel we're talking about so what-did-I-expect, right?)

At least this set is clearly not a 'toy' and will probably be in a display box not meant to be opened. So you know what you're getting right off the bat.

And hopefully this means a possible run of supervillain Polly Pockets at retail that are designed for play. I've got daughters who need that type of thing!

If nothing else, it's good to see the gals of Gotham getting some exposure outside their typical toy realms.

Now if we could just get Harley and Ivy in the Imaginext toyline!
