This week's League of Extraordinary Bloggers assignment:
What songs were forever being looped on your car’s stereo back in high school. A cassette could only hold a dozen or so songs, so that’s the magic number of songs to list. If your car didn’t have a cassette deck in high school, go ahead and pretend it did, you punk.
I started High School in Fall 1989 and graduated in Spring 1993, so I wanted to represent the entire four years here with a well rounded selection of actual cassettes I owned and played in the vehicles I owned and drove to High School (first, a 1981 Mercury Capri and second, a 1971 Torino Country Squire.)
Damn I miss that station wagon!

ReplyDeleteMy wagon was epic. I miss him!
DeleteWhew! For a while there I was afraid I was going to be the only one with Warrant on their list.
ReplyDeleteWe could have been friends in high school.
Haha yeah, not my proudest musical moment, but it was a fun song (and a great video ;) )
DeleteWarrant is playing a free show about a mile from my house in a few weeks (with Firehouse). That's gonna be a lot of awesome in one night! I still remember the first time I heard Cherry Pie -- at an dance following a Friday night football game -- freshman year of high school...
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good time! Warrant played a free concert near me this summer but I missed it :(
DeleteBTO! The most rockin' band in the land baby. : )
ReplyDeleteGreat music from those guys for road trips but all the music you have Eric is awesome.
Hell yes!
DeleteI love the Batman 1989 soundtrack too! Played it non stop in my senior year. Of course just to myself...
ReplyDeleteHaha yeah, that one was reserved for days when weather forced you to keep the windows up. ;)
DeleteI had a 45 of Magic Carpet Ride when I was like 10 and I played it over and over again until the record sounded terrible and distorted
ReplyDeleteA classic for sure!
DeleteDon't you think that Van Halen just did their best stuff with Sammy Hagar? Plus Warrant were one of my favourite bands at the time too. So much so in fact that both are on my list! Well done you. You clearly have exquisite taste. :-)
ReplyDeleteI have to agree re: Van Hagar. And exquisite taste ;)
DeleteI know right! Everyone looks at you like you're some kind of outcast every time you suggest Van Halen were a better band with Hagar. What did I miss!?
