Hawkeye Meets Hawkeye :: Sheng Yuan Bootleg Minifigures

Let me make one thing clear - I prefer my comic book archers in green.

That said, I acquired these two Sheng Yuan bootLEGO Hawkeyes as part of the 8 figure lot that included Galactus, Cyborg and a few others. I wouldn't have sought them out specifically, but they are great minifigures in their own rights.

Here are the bases/symbols Sheng Yuan has begun including with their most recent releases. As you can see, in true bootleg fashion the symbols don't always line up. I also just looked back on the official images of these things and realized I built them wrong. That's what happens when you don't include instructions, Sheng Yuan!

I am especially fond of the comicbook version of Hawkeye, specifically because he is a unique release - LEGO hasn't made a comicbook version of Hawkeye.

He may not be wearin' the green, but he does have a great comic-book look.

I'm not sure what version of the movie version of Hawkeye this is - I know LEGO has made a few, and this might be a direct rip-off or it might be unique to Sheng Yuan. Perhaps someone could fill me in in the comments?

  1. Man, Sheng Yuan just continues to crank out the minifigs! I am really quite amazed at the quality too, pretty dang close to LEGO quality! I'm surprised LEGO hasn't done anything to stop them, at least nothing that I know of. I guess LEGO is the most powerful toy company in the world and they couldn't care less about bootleggers.

Has LEGO released both these same Hawkeyes?

Also, have you seen the Sheng Yuan Groot minifigure and the new Macrofigure Groot? The minifigure is awesome!

    1. LEGO has a couple movie versions similar to this one but I'm not expert on Marvel LEGO enough to know if this is a direct rip-off. The comic version is a Sheng-Yuan original.

    2. And I have seen those Groots - they are pretty cool! Both are better than the official version in my opinion.

    1. Me too, but I still need a LEGO Green Arrow to defeat him in an archery contest!
