Happy New Year and all that Jazz!

"Do it with style or don't bother doing it."

From the new Transformers: Reveal the Shield series comes the newest and probably coolest G1 inspired modern Transformer to grace the toy shelves!

A fan favorite since his first appearances in the original Transformers cartoon and toyline, Jazz begins as a Porsche-esque sports car with Martini racing inspired colors.

While the original Jazz was an undeniable Porsche 935, modern Transformer toys tend to steer away from being too specific, lest lawyers get involved.

Still, Jazz's vehicle mode is an acceptable modernization and would probably fit in on the freeway more than his G1 counterpart.

The coolest feature ever in a Transformer comes in the form of a pair of massive speakers that can be rotated out from Jazz's windows.

A nod to the cartoon/comic version of the toy (from G1 Jazz tech specs: "Equipped with photon rifle, flamethrower, full-spectrum beacon, 180db stereo speakers. Creates dazzling, disorienting sound and light shows.") these speakers didn't exist on the original toy and are characterization specific, and speak volumes to the true love and attention to detail the current designers have for this character.

And what's cooler - the speakers deploy in robot mode as well!

Robot mode is where Jazz really shines. This is exactly how Jazz should look in toy form. No finer Jazz has ever been made, not counting the original of course. And from an engineering perspective, this new Jazz is far superior.

Once again the designers are able to make a modern Transformer a true action figure in robot form, with the perfect marriage of aesthetics and play value.

Dubbed 'Special Ops Jazz,' this new Jazz Transformer rocks and is a must have for the true blue G1 fan.
