Turtles Forever

I had heard about this Turtles Forever movie a while ago, but not having cable, I was unable to catch it on first airing. I have been meaning to track it down on the internet ever since, and finally sat down tonight to throw my eyes at it.

Cowabunga dudes, this has got to be one of the most entertaining Turtle adventures ever!

Maybe I am biased, having been a fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for decades. Black and White Eastman and Laird comics? Check. Watched the original cartoon when it first aired? Check. Read the Archie comics based on the cartoon turtles? Check. Saw the first movie in the theatre? Check. Saw the second movie in the theatre? Check. Saw the third movie in the theatre...sorry, no. Playmates toys from every era? Check. Watched many episodes of the most recent Turtles cartoons? Check. Saw the most recent CGI animated movie in the theatre? Check.

So based on that checklist I think I can say Turtles Forever is an absolute BLAST! It had me grinning from ear to ear throughout...and if you don't absolutely fall out of your chair with giddy excitement at 4:12 of Part 7, then you have no soul.

Okay, enough talk. If you haven't seen it already do yourself a HUGE favor and watch it now:

  2. Have you seen the action figures based on the old Mirage comic? I don't remember who makes them, but they look like they jumped right off the page. Very graphical, with detail line work that mimics Eastman's art. The best part: They're offered in painted and monochrome versions! So yep, you can own the turtles in black and white! They come with lots of accessories, too.

I'm always tempted to buy them, for some reason I never do. I'm sure that, any day now, they'll be gone from the shelves and I'll kick myself...

  3. Okay, the company is NECA. They also made a set of mousers and an April O'Neal figure (in various colored outfits -- no black and white one, though, which is sort of too bad).

  4. I'm with Doc Atomic, the NECA turtles are really cool figure! I have the green versions, but the black and white ones look good too.

  5. Thanks for sharing. I will pick the old turtles cartoon any other day I tell you. LOL So fun to see them again with the new turtles. You got to love the old villains too! They are so funny.

  6. I saw those NECA figures at a Hot Topic once a long time ago - I passed that day but regretted it so when I went back to get at least one...they were gone!

So I don't have any of them yet, but if I stumble on them at retail again someday I will grab one - but I fear they may be no longer available except through online outlets and I am loathe to pay dumb jacked-up prices for them (or anything else for that matter!)

  8. I remember the NECA turtle do sell them as a set and only 1 turtle was sold individually. THe mono color is easier to find tho.
